Rapid Drive-up COVID-19 Antigen Test

How does it work?

  • An Immunoassay that detect the presence of a specific viral antigen, which implies current viral infection

  • May be a nasopharyngeal or nasal swab.

Pros...

  • Positive results are accurate 

  • Moderate sensitivity 

  • Best used in the first 5-7 days of the onset of symptoms 

  • Results in 15 minutes

Cons...

  • Antigen tests for SARS-CoV-2 are generally less sensitive than real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)

  • Should be used within the first 5-7 days from the onset of symptoms

  • Negative results may need to be confirmed with a molecular test.

How does it work?

  • deep nasal swabs will have fewer false negatives compared with other tests, such as throat swabs or saliva tests

  • Highly accurate and usually does not need to be repeated

Cons...

  • Long turnaround times

  • Uncomfortable for some people

  • May pick up past infections

In order to keep everyone as safe as possible, ClearPath Family Healthcare will be instituting the following measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Thank you for your help to keep our community safe!

 

We are now offering telemedicine for all patients.  Preoperative exams, general wellness/physical exams and well-child exams/physicals will NOT be available via telemedicine.  Medicare annual wellness exams will be available via telemedicine without a physical exam portion.

All sick visits will have an initial consultation via telemedicine.  If the healthcare provider determines that a face-to-face visit is required you will be notified at that visit with further instructions on how to reduce disease transmission.  We will not be accepting any stand-by visits for sick patients.

 

We are following social distancing guidelines and require masks to be worn within our clinic.  Additionally, we offer a remote check-in option to prevent waiting in the lobby.  Call our office when you arrive at the location to check-in to your appointment.  All relevant paperwork will be completed remotely and our staff will alert you when your exam room is available.

We ask that only the patient and one healthy visitor attend all visits.
